Child Protection Training Courses
Overview
This child protection training courses is designed to raise awareness of child protection issues. The course will allow workers in residential or community settings to explore and develop an understanding of safeguarding children and provide attendees with the knowledge and skills to deal with child protection situations.
Outline of Child Protection Training Programme
On completion of the course, delegates will understand:
- The following different forms of abuse: physical, sexual, emotional, financial and institutional
- Self neglect and neglect by others
- The possible signs/symptoms associated with physical, sexual, emotional, financial and institutional abuse
- Recognise the possible signs/symptoms associated wioth neglect by self or others
- Demonstrate when and how to report abuse/neglect
The syllabus includes:
- Definition of a client
- Various types of abuse
- How to recognise abuse in children
- Whistle blowing
- Groups and agencies involved in the protection of children
- Case studies
- Record keeping
Assessment:
The child protection training course is delivered in 3 hours and Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn along with interaction of group activities.
