CONFIDENTIALITY AWARENESS
Overview
The aim of this course is to provide the theory and introduce moral/ethical and philosophical issues relating to confidentiality. Candidates will gain awareness of why confidentiality is important, how to keep information confidential and situations when information might need to be shared. Candidates will gain an understanding on how confidentiality can be breached and how to deal with enquiries without breaching confidentiality.

The course covers:
- Defining Confidentiality
- Why confidentiality is important
- Legislation,Policy & Procedure relating to confidentiality
- How confidentiality may be breached and how to deal with such situations
- What is meant by the term ‘Disclosure’
- Philosophical and Ethical Issues
- Personal Experience & Practice
Assessment:
The course is delivered in 2 hours and Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn along with interaction of group activities.
