ConFLICT MANAGEMENT Awareness
This course is aimed at all staff. This conflict management course raises participants understanding of the background to conflict and the contribution they can make to managing conflict effectively. This conflict management awareness course provides attendees with the skills and knowledge to deal with workplace violence, how to reduce risks, how to respond to difficult situations and what should be done after an incident has occurred.
Outline of Program:
- What is workplace violence? … introduces and defines the concept of workplace violence and sets out some key messages about how to manage workplace violence.
- What leads to workplace violence? … considers the circumstances that can trigger violence, and the way that different reactions lead to different outcomes.
- How can you reduce the risk of violence? … focuses on effective communication skills, looking at various blocks to effective communication and suggesting ways to help reduce these blocks.
- How can you respond to a difficult situation?
- What should you do after an incident has happened? … looks at support for all those involved in an incident and emphasises the importance of effective recording and reporting
Assessment:
The course is delivered in 2 hours and Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn along with interaction of group activities.
