This Deprivation of Liberties Safeguarding course (DOLS) will provide candidates with an awareness of their roles and responsibilities with regard to preservation of a person’s liberty whilst at the same time protecting a person’s best interests to ensure compliance with legislation. This DOLS course is suitable to those working within the Social Care Sector and covers the below.
Outline of Programme
The DOLS course covers:
- Key areas of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Defining Deprivation of Liberties
- Managing and Supervising Authorities
- Advocacy
- How to identify those at Risk
- Roles & Responsibilities of the Care Worker
- Dealing with Challenges and Emergencies
Assessment:
The Deprivation of Liberties Safeguarding course is delivered in 2 hours and Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn along with interaction of group activities.
