Overview
This awareness course is aimed at staff working in the care environment. It is in line with the National Minimum Standards Requirements and the recent CQC guidelines. The learner will have an understanding of the legislation involved with drug administration, along with being able to follow procedures set for safe administration. The learner will also have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and security in all procedures of drug administration. Attendees will gain under-pinning knowledge of the above issues and therefore will be able to put this into practice where necessary.

- Introduction to Medicines and Prescriptions
- Medicine Supply, Storage and Disposal
- The Safe Administration of Medicines
- Quality Control and Record Keeping
- Accountability, Responsibility and Confidentiality
Assessment:
The course is delivered in 3 hours and Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn along with interaction of group activities.
Cost:
The cost of this course delivered on your premises is £325 + vat. If two of these half day courses are run on the same day at the same venue the cost would be £500 + VAT.
Important information
The training venue should be quiet and undisturbed.
Staff should not be expected to be on duty
Staff attending should remain for the entire length of the session
