Palliative Care Awareness
Overview
This course is for candidates working within caring role for those who have a life-limiting illness, enabling them to undertake the carer’s role with confidence applying understanding of palliative care, providing dignity, comfort and empathy.
Outline of Programme
The course covers:
- What is meant by the term ‘Palliative Care’
- Ensuring Comfort, Dignity & Empathy
- Supportive care for all those involved
- Dealing with ‘Death’ and its effects including the grieving process
- Complimentary Therapies
Assessment:
The course is delivered in 2 hours and Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn along with interaction of group activities.
