These IPAF Mobile Elevated Work Platform Operator training courses instructs candidates how to safely operate a range of MEWPS (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) and gain awareness of the legal implications, common hazards and precautions.

Outline of IPAF MEWP Operator Training Programme:-

• Health & Safety, Working at Height Regulations and Legislation.
• Pre-Use Inspection
• Structural Parts
• Ground and Site Conditions
• Operation and Safe Manoeuvre of the MEWPS
• Accident Prevention and Control
• Operate the Auxiliary or Manual Decent Procedure
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Manufacturers Instruction Manuals
• Theory Test (multiple choice) and Practical Training/Test
  

IPAF MEWP Training Categories

• 3a – Mobile Vertical Personnel Platforms/Scissor Lifts
• 3b – Mobile Boom/Self-Propelled Boom
• 1b – Static Boom Truck & Van Mounted Platforms
• 1b – Static Boom Trailer Mounted Platforms
• PAV – Push Around Vertical Platforms (half day)

Assessment:
The IPAF Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) training course is normally covered in 1 day (depending on MEWPS catergory) On successful completion of the course a 5 year internationally recognised PAL photo ID card/certificate will be awarded stating which categories of MEWPS the individual can operate.

Important Information
Candidates should be at least 16 years old and must comply with the IPAF Health & Fitness Statement Each candidate must Supply all PPE Including Full Body Harness and Restraint Lanyard (in accordance with the IPAF Technical Guidance Note H1/05/05)
