There are many tasks you can carry out in the workplace that could be hazardous to your health, but one of the most dangerous is working at height. Thousands of people all over the UK work at height as part of their day-to-day work, but not all of them have undergone the right health and safety training.

Working at height training is essential for anyone who works at height, as well as for the managers, supervisors and businesses which employ them. Not only is it a requirement of the Work at Height Regulations (2005) that people working at height are competent and trained in working safely at height, but proper training also helps to keep employees safe and prevent accidents, injuries and fatalities.

There are a few different types of health and safety training courses tailored for people working at height. There are International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) courses for operators and managers, as well as Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association (PASMA) courses for people working with mobile towers.

When choosing a working at height training course, you must make sure it is industry approved and that the trainer has the relevant qualifications and certification.
