NVQ DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT LEVEL 7
This course has been replaced by the QCF Level 7 Diploma in Management.
The Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Management is the equivalent of a Master's Degree, and is designed for those working in a leadership or managerial role, who have a responsibility for the work and activities of other staff. The mandatory programme equips delegates with essential general leadership skills and understanding, and the optional units allow them to tailor the course to suit their specific sector, thus making the course ideal for those working in a management role within a care setting, whether working with adults, children, or both.
Outline of Programme
The NVQ level 7 is achieved by delegates gaining 27 credits from the 3 mandatory units (Group A), in addition to 18 credits from Group B optional units and 27 credits from the Group C optional units.
- B3: Develop a Strategic Business Plan.
- B7: Develop Strategic Direction and Leadership.
- C4: Lead Change in an Organisation.
As well as the mandatory units, a further 4 optional units must be chosen in accordance with the work function and setting of the delegate. This will enable them to tailor the course to their own specific career development needs. Please feel free to request an information pack on the optional pathways available, or call a consultant now.
How does assessment take place?
Delegates will be assessed through the observation of their work-based performance, building a portfolio of evidence, and demonstrating their ability to work at the required level. An assessor will be on hand to help prepare the portfolio for assessment, with contact via email and telephone for assistance and support throughout the qualification.
What are the entry requirements?
The Diploma in Leadership and Management is for those aged 19+ who are already working within a health and social care role with managerial responsibilities, so that they can produce the required evidence. Delegates must also have good written and verbal communication skills.
How long will it take?
The course is completely flexible and we encourage students to learn at their own pace. The awarding body do stipulate that the course is completed within 36 months, but most students will successful finish the programme in around 9!
How would I progress further?
Those successful achieving this qualification have the ability to progress onto qualifications such as counselling, inspecting learning disability services, community development, and management qualifications 5 and 6.
